The Shadow Sabre arrived for 2000 as the sportier 1100 Shadow, combining the dual-crankpin Spirit engine with the ACE chassis, a cast aluminium front wheel, rear disc brake and a slightly lower final gear for quicker launches. Early testers found it smooth rather than dramatic in a straight line but rated its suspension, brakes, comfort and cornering clearance highly.
